In their standard version gas
filters are equipped with cellulose filter cartridges of GD and GDW type. The
separation of solid particles from gas is held in a star-pleated, impregnated
in single-stage resin, cellulose paper sheet. This construction makes the
cartridge resistant to moisture and mechanical damage, e.g. to tear. In
comparison to felt cartridges, cellulose cartridges provide 4,5 times greater
active filtering area. Both the internal and external side of the filtering
material is protected with perforated metal sheet.
The photo blow shows cartridges
protected with galvanised sheet. Cartridges of this type are not resistant
against aggressive agents like biogas. Aggressive or sour and acid gases are
filtered with cartridges protected with stainless steel metal sheet. Both heads
of the filter cartridges are equipped with felt rings, separating contaminated
gas side and clean gas side of the filter. The dimensions of filter cartridges
are presented in the table.
Filter cartridges for standard
applications separate particles of 5 µm, while optional configurations separate
particles of 2 µm.
